1. go to see the area that is the most real estate sub burb in Indonesia. it looks most like in America.
2. go to the airport: it's the smallest i've ever seen
3. go to see the racetrack and biking area people are now safe to race in. - then see the road that they used to race on
4. see the center of town all lit up at night like christmas
5. go on the main street that looks like Hollywood
6. eat bakso bakar (grilled bakso) at the place that has the most people. that means it's the best there
7. eat traditional food and see the traditional things at Inggal (if the name is right). you'll get a taste for what dutch things came over with the army. and the traditional way indonesians eat
8. eat ayam ceker (boiled chicken feet) at Ibu's restaurant, ask Ibu Saraswati of Rotary Of malang where it's at. Ibu's restaurant is the only who makes her soup by scratch. you won't get those flavours anywhere else.
9. go to see the ghetto of Malang, the confusing roads, and the river that runs behind them all~ you'll see how necessary education is needed there
10. drive on a road with no traffic
Bandung:
1. go to the best restaurant in town that overlooks the entire city
2. go to the restaurant that is above the entire city, and is in a hotel. your view is excellent and you feel very noble
3. go bowling with Brazilians and see how good they are
4. eat Bak Pao- it's best in Bandung
5. walk to Roma Mode, which is the most sought after factory outlet store with clothes from america
6. if you like nightlife- it's best in Bandung, because it is one of the cities with the most universities
7. go to the outdoor mall, and then iceskate on top of it
8. explore the japanese and dutch caves
9. learn how to play the Angklung
10. drink ginger tea
11. Go to Lembang to experience the hot springs that are full with sulfur
12. eat at Nanny's Pavillion, which doesn't actually look like a resatuarant
13. learn how to dance the Peacock dance that is for Javanese weddins
14. work alongside with a project to help the orphans in Bandung
15. get into a group of people, and become their great friends in one night. playing jenga truth or dare

Bukittinggi:
1. get a hotel room alone with God overlooking the entire landscape
2. wake up early

4. drive out to Lake Meningjaw and see the lake from both the top of the mountain, and the bottom of the 44lvls it takes to get to the lake.
5. go down those 44 lvls (or turns) with a host driver who knows the area
6. make friends with a nice family and discover their village
7. love people
8. be open to things happening
9. take pictures in a rice paddy
10. take pictures in the canyon, and above the canyon
11. eat durien
12. have a massage by the man in the village who knows your body better than you do
13. eat a Padang style lunch, complete with coconut juice, eaten with your hands, and with the delicious green coloured rice~ coconut shavings on the outside, sweet brown sugar on the inside. with funny government officers
14. walk into, sign your name, and discover a traditional Padang wedding reception
15. don't go with anyone your age.

Berastagi:
1. ride horses to the top of the mountain and then back down

Medan:

2. eat all the food: including frog legs and all the cakes there might be. They're only in Medan.
3. it's best to eat durien here. it's freshest. and best in Medan.
4. listen to Mariah carey's latest christmas album
5. go to the biggest mosque in Medan.
6. go on a tour in the biggest buddhist temple in Southeast Asia and do everything they encourage you to try
7. drink marquisa juice
8. take photos of all the blue herons right next to the temple
9. enter a hindu temple and learn about the religion
10. go to the sultan's old palace
11. ride in the traditional car in Medan, it uses a motor but i forget the name.
12. go to the house of the most influential chinese man in Medan
13. visit Oma and Opa Ferdinandus, they will love you.

Lake Toba:
1. bike around the entire island
2. climb up to the waterfall that you see in the distance
3. go to the market that is suggested, and bargain for Batik
4. discover the batak traditions, houses, dances, clothing, and way of government throughout the island
5. don't waste your money
6. enjoy the scenery of the Lake around you. because your on an island inside of it
7. don't miss your ferry back to the other side.

9. make sure you learn bahasa indonesia beforehand, and just be cautious of who you talk to. no one weird or scary.

4. go on a horse carriage out to the end of the beach near the mountain and take pictures
5. find a man with his naked son sitting on his shoulders
6. go to the public toilet, bring tissue and money
7. watch the boats come in with everything from squid, sting ray, fish, to sharks.
8. eat tempe for the first time. you'll love it
9. take a dip bucket bath cold every morning and night
10. live in a village house
11. go up to Genung Merapi
12. visit Mitrobatik on Malioboro and buy out the shop of souviners
13. buy batik for your entire family AND for yourself- it's cheapest in Jogja
14. don't buy straw pencils, they mold before you get home
15. buy the weird car things you'll see everywhere. they're the style that no one will have in america but everyone has in Indonesia
16. try the steak and shake there, that tastes nothing like steak and shake in indiana
17. discover Realia: the english/indonesian school that my second host mother owns
18. visit exchange students that may be living there
19. place with little kids
20. go by motor everywhere with a facemask to feel cool
21. i suggest wearing sunscreen, because the sun truly shines there
22. if you wear gladiators, be warned you will get tan lines
23. pray over everything you buy, and do not keep it in your room at night unless it is prayed over- because Jogja has darkness
24. wear long pants at night, so that nothing creepy happens when people see white skin
25. discover the small mall they have, and the area for children they've set aside for AWESOMENESS!
26. sleep on a mattress on the ground
27. buy sirsak for the family that keeps you, and for your family in any other city- because it is GOOD

Jakarta:
1. discover the biggest mosque in Southeast Asia, and then the cathedral right across the street
2. eat padang food, and compare the spicy-ness to Padang food in Padang

6. go to Senayan City and Grand Indonesia to see the insane display of malls here
7. ride an ojek to the Ciputat traditional market where you'll buy a facemask that you would need for your ride home
8. take a motor to the FX Mall, to ride the FX Slide
9. get stuck in traffic for 2hrs. in the rain just to experience it
10. ice skate in Plaza Semanggi, and watch all the indonesian iceskaters, go by yourself to clear your head

57. have enough time with God so that you can reflect on how he's working in you. because He is
58. fast if necessary, this sometimes helps so that you can forwardly bring God into conversations that may not have had Him in the first place. unless you were confused of how to talk about Himl.
59. Follow God's direction and voice. because if you come here. it's for a purpose
60. change your wardrobe from american to indonesian. give away the american clothes to your maids and the people who really need them
61. if you see someone on the road everyday, God's talking to you. so give him things- like tissues or apples
62. try a kabab, and peanut sauce- just to see it YOU like it.
63. get mangis, mangga, all different types of butter, Indonesian bread, french bread, all the types of bananas, oatmeal (from Germany), and different fish. These are all good things to try.
64. go to different churches to touch people, and listen to English guest speakers
65. learn indonesian worship songs and download them to your laptop
66. go along to a javanese wedding, and dress up in the muslim outfit if the family is muslim
67. discover a batak wedding as well
68. realize the difference between families and events in indonesia and america
69. remember that even if your bahasa is not good. you are loved, and you will learn it. and with that key you will unlock the country :)
70. go to traditional markets to get the best prices, try to bargain yourself

73. make it routine to go to a cafe close to your house that you can walk to so that you can get to know the people on your route and make relationships

83. do your bahasa homework, and listen to people talking
84. stop by a production house and watch people try out
85. pray with muslims for someone's death 40days ago. just see how it happens
86. remember to console people, they have the same needs you do even though they may show them differently
87. find God in the city. on the roof. or in the trees. but find Him.
88. read the Koran, and a book aobut the differences between muslim and christianity so that you can see for yourself
89. don't only stay in Jakarta
90. find the problems in Jakarta, and talk with God about waht you can do to help solve them
91. when you have time, make a routine with God so that even in travels, you'll have time with him, and maybe even workout time so you stay in somewhat of a shape :P
92. cook american food for indonesians
93. don't be scared, and have fun the first month~ it's all totally new. embrace the beat
94. go out to the beach close to Jakarta to go by banana boat and jetski with friends! and eat fish :)
95. make sure you touch down to every place you met people to say goodbye and thank you to them
